This is a three-tiered, black lacquered jubako (tiered food container). It is unused, but appears to be quite old. There are no scratches. Cranes, pine, bamboo, and plum blossoms are depicted, so it was likely used for celebrations. There are designs on the front and top, the sides are black lacquered, and the inside is vermilion. It would be perfect for holding osechi (New Year's dishes) and welcoming the new year. It comes with a box, but it is old. Sorry.
