They are a bit different in shape from Japanese spinning tops, being longer vertically), carved from wood and hand-painted. The legs are wire. It has a charming and cute face, and you can feel a sense of humor. I really loved it and had it on display in a glass-door display case, but I'm running out of space, so I'm selling two of the four birds I have.
