Born into a prestigious kiln family in Seto Akatsu, he is one of the accomplished artists who has won numerous awards at exhibitions such as the Nitten, and has served as a friend and judge of the Nitten. This work is also a masterpiece of hand-pinching, and the black Oribe is wonderfully crafted. The row of star-like dots arranged in the interior resembles the night sky and is beautiful.
