I change strings every June, and they've sounded just right, with the initial bright sound mellowing out nicely. New strings have become quite expensive in recent years, with prices exceeding 30,000 yen on websites. There's little fraying, and they're still usable, so how about them for students on a budget or for educational instruments? 3/4 size. My instrument's string length is 104.5cm, but there's plenty of extra length.
