Purchased from an antique shop in the suburbs of Paris. This is an old PEUGEOT FRERES/Peugeot coffee mill. Peugeot started manufacturing coffee mills around 1840, earlier than their cars, and there are many collectors worldwide. This is a popular, cute ivory model. Although described as ivory, it has a color closer to off-white, and it looks lovely when displayed. The combination of the subdued tin and wood creates a shabby, antique mill-like chic appearance. This Peugeot model with a metal color close to white is very popular in France and is loved by many users. The handle has a wooden knob, which is cute. The knob on the box below is also wooden. There are no major defects or cracks in the main body, which is common in wooden coffee mills, but there are minor scratches from aging, and overall, it's in pretty good condition. Old ground beans were left in the tray, so it seems it was actually used. It can grind beans with a grinding sound, but the precision is unknown. The condition is almost as it was when purchased.
