This is a Meyer 5MM alto mouthpiece, given to me by someone who used to repair wind instruments in the Kansai region. According to them, they received it from a jazz player active in Kansai in the early 1980s. They intended to use it for repairs for jazz musicians, but they mostly used Selmer mouthpieces, and only played this one a few times in 20 years. Since I've had it, I haven't used it as my main mouthpiece. I've used it to compare its sound to current models when selecting new ones. Compared to current models, the depth of tone is on a different level. There is some deterioration due to age and ligature marks, but there are no issues with the table, tip, or rails. An Optimum ligature is included as a bonus (plate #2 is missing). There is no box. Thank you!
