For your reference, this is an incredibly rare South African pressing of The Beatles' "White Album," considered by many to be their masterpiece (or perhaps a controversial work at the time). This record is in remarkably good condition, considering it's half a century old and a South African pressing. It features the highly unusual misprints of "Birthday" listed twice and both "Revolution 1" and "Revolution 9" replaced with "Revolution," resulting in a double (effectively triple) misprint. It's a stereo pressing with excellent sound quality. While it's uncertain if this was a 1st pressing with the misprints, South African 1st pressings don't have branch numbers, and the matrix numbers are YEX 709, YEX 710, etc. (even 1st pressings with top-opening jackets sometimes have side C with matrix 3). Branch numbers 1 and 2 don't seem to exist. The matrix numbers are as follows, likely making this a 2nd or 3rd pressing, but the handwritten nature of the matrix is also quite unusual: YEX 709-3 YEX 710-3 YEX 711-4 YEX 712-4 The jacket is side-opening, so it's likely not a 1st pressing either. There is some soiling and staining on the inside, but no critical damage. The disc itself is in remarkably good condition, considering it's nearly 60 years old and a South African pressing. There are some hairline scratches, but in my setup (AT-VMN95E), while there are occasional pops, there's nothing critical, and overall playback is very good. In conclusion, this is a very unique record, and it's unlikely you'll find another in this condition (especially a South African pressing). This is reflected in the reference price. I will offer a small discount for multiple purchases. While there are no critical playback issues, the sound quality and overall listening experience can vary depending on your playback environment, including the stylus shape and wear, cartridge characteristics, arm setup, tracking force, and the overall combination of your equipment.
