This is a Kutani-yaki sake cup by Ryozan, hand-painted with an all-chrysanthemum design. The sides are painted with a landscape. This item has been displayed in my parents' home for over 50 years. There were statues of Ebisu and Daikoku on the household Shinto altar, and this chrysanthemum sake cup was displayed in front of Ebisu. I have it now because we closed the business and removed the altar. It is very rare to find this item with the gold parts so beautifully preserved. There are no chips or scratches, but there is a part where the glaze has pooled on the bottom where the mark is. I hope this will reach someone who appreciates this as part of the charm of the pottery.
