Dan River Founded in Danville, Virginia in 1882, Dan River Mills grew to become the largest textile factory in the South. A historic manufacturer, it produced fabrics for various apparel brands, including Brooks Brothers, as well as home fashion products such as bedding. After the factory closed in 2008, items created by various brands using deadstock fabric are still fresh in our memory, and we still often see Dan River tags in vintage shops.
