"The Egg of Tales" and "Doctor Pest's Dream" are collections of short stories, with 17 and 16 stories respectively. The illustrations from the first edition are almost entirely included. "King Ramram" is a long fairy tale with the same content as the 1992 reprint published by Ginka-sha, but with different illustrations, using the drawings created for the 1964 edition. Takeo Takei's original vision, enjoying the strange stories that emerged from his mind one after another, and creating a "kingdom of fairy tales" throughout his life. ----------------------- Under a big, big tree, a beautiful rooster and a hen were kept. One day, they found a small, emerald-colored seedling in the chicken coop's garden, and the two chickens were delighted. Every morning when the sky turned white and the morning star began to shine, they came down from their nests. The rooster blew a big trumpet, "Poo-poo," and the hen played a small flute, "Piyo-piyo," and nurtured the soft seedling. The lovely seedling grew prick by prick and finally became a tree.
