Thank you for viewing! This is a BOSS DS-2, used by Kurt Cobain of NIRVANA, John Frusciante of RED HOT CHILIPEPPERS, and HARUNA of SCANDAL. It's a Taiwanese-made germanium unit. It appears to be from 1993. ◯ This unit is an older version without the CE mark. Personally, I think the sound is better than the version with the CE mark. This is a repaired item. ○ It was a unit that didn't produce sound, but upon inspection, some components were missing from the circuit board. Replacing them with the original values restored normal operation. ○ The DC jack land was lifting, so it has been point-to-point wired. ○ There was scratchiness in each knob, which has been eliminated through maintenance. In addition to the repairs, the following modifications have been made: ○ All electrolytic capacitors have been replaced with new ones, and the power supply section's capacity has been increased to improve sound quality. ○ Some components have been cut to improve the sound thinning during bypass. (Lead wires cut from parts are used for the connecting wiring.) ○ The bypass line has been point-to-point wired to further improve the sound thinning during bypass, in addition to the above. Lead wires from each part are used for this wiring. ○ A bypass capacitor has been added to the power supply section to address noise. The solder used was Japan Almit KR-19RMA for the main power supply section and KESTER44 for the rest. The pedal guide push rubber has been replaced with a new one. The following modifications are available for an additional fee: ○ Improvement of the weak low frequencies for an additional 1000 yen. ○ Improvement of the cause of narrowing the low-frequency range for an additional 1500 yen. ○ Further measures against sound thinning during bypass for an additional 1500 yen. Operation has been confirmed with an adapter and a 9V battery. Body only. Before shipping, the jacks and DC jack will be cleaned.
