Haebler's only Beethoven concerto recording. A valuable record of the ultimate in clear sound. A rare Beethoven recording by Haebler, who is known for her recordings of Mozart's sonatas and piano works. Besides this, she recorded the complete violin sonatas with Szeryng and some chamber music, making this a very rare recording. Moreover, it is a highly valuable performance as there are few concerto recordings where the pianist takes center stage. It seems that the initial plan was to record all the concertos, but it is unknown why only Nos. 2 and 4 were recorded. Instead of a masculine Beethoven image with strong keystrokes, the performance is full of aesthetic beauty, as if beautiful tones were arranged with a natural flow in mind. It is very unfortunate that we cannot listen to the other pieces, but the only two remaining pieces are a must-listen. This is a long-awaited reissue since the CD release in 1994.
