This is a custom-made version of the highly renowned PG5-AD drafting mechanical pencil, featuring a wooden body. The wood type is Honduras Rose burl. The deep brown of the Honduras Rose is interspersed with a golden luster. The gradation, only seen in burl wood, provides a beautiful finish. The PG5 has been a masterpiece of drafting mechanical pencils for over 50 years, loved by many. The original is thin and light (approx. 10g), offering a very light writing feel, and doesn't cause fatigue even after long periods of writing. The Takamura Moku Koubou PG5 wooden body custom maximizes the original's qualities. The design maintains the slim form, and the wooden body is created with minimal metal, using the original parts. The weight is kept to 12-14g. The center of gravity has been slightly shifted downwards, and a slight indentation is added to the finger grip area to fit the fingers and reproduce a light writing feel without applying force. The wooden body can be removed and replaced. This is a confident creation with a very good finish. It's a masterpiece that we want not only stationery lovers but also many others to use. Penetrating inorganic glass coating is used for the wooden body. After drying, the wood and the glass-like quality of the coating adhere, creating strong hardness. It has high water and stain resistance and can be used for a long period with no maintenance. Unless strong force is applied, or the clip area is handled roughly, it is difficult to scratch, and a beautiful condition can be maintained. *Please be aware that it may break or get scratched depending on handling.
