When wearing outerwear that restricts movement, raising your arms can cause the hem to ride up, exposing your stomach. We wanted to create a jacket that was easy to move in, using wonderful Japanese denim. We designed a new jacket with the goal of allowing as much freedom of movement as possible. Working with an experienced pattern maker, we created a prototype and arrived at a structure that provides freedom of movement in the arms, with a simple appearance that was previously unimaginable for denim jackets. Side seam pockets. Large inner pockets. Straight cut. Made in Japan. We use domestic denim woven in Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture, a region with over 60 years of history in denim production. The good thing about this denim is that it's not too heavy or stiff, and you can enjoy the fading that is characteristic of denim. Fukuyama City has a history in textiles, from kimonos to modern workwear. No synthetic fibers are used. Elastane (polyurethane), a synthetic fiber used to give jeans elasticity, deteriorates more easily than other fibers, causing them to lose their shape in one season. 100% cotton. The suppleness when worn is due to the twill weave and fine adjustments to the pattern. This is a medium-weight denim fabric made with natural, uneven yarns that will increase in texture the more you use it. It has the appearance of driftwood grain.
