Go Board (Hon-kaya, Tenchi-masa) Tree Species: Hon-kaya (Japanese torreya) It has the sweet fragrance unique to Hon-kaya, and it has developed a beautiful amber color over time. It is not the artificial whiteness or mechanical grain of new kaya (spruce), but the deep, natural texture of the wood. Wood Grain: Tenchi-masa (straight grain on the top and bottom) The top (omote) and bottom surfaces have straight and beautiful "masame" (straight grain) that looks like it was drawn with a ruler. This is a very prestigious wood grain that combines practicality and aesthetics. Size (Actual Measurement): *Measured by an amateur Thickness: Approximately 15.6cm (approximately 5.15 sun) *This is a full-fledged 5-sun board. Condition: The top surface is very clean, with few noticeable marks or stains. The "heso" (belly button) carving on the back is sharp and has been carefully done. 2. Go Stones (Hon-hamaguri, Nachiguro) White Stones: Hon-hamaguri (genuine clam shell) When light is shone on them, the beautiful striped patterns (growth lines) unique to clam shells can be seen through them (see photos).
