However, you might hesitate to spend 7,000 yen (14,000 yen for a twin pedal) to install Canopus Speed Master Bearings (formerly Speed Star Bearings) on a low-cost pedal. That's why we created these grooved bearings. They have a simple shape, with grooves cut into the outer ring of NSK stainless steel bearings (*). They don't have a heavy bearing holder like the Speed Master Bearings, so the inertia is smaller, and the movement is more agile.
