The play of the same name, first performed in 2009 by the theater unit "Chikara Waza" led by actor Jiro Sato, has been made into a film directed, written, and starring Sato, with Takayuki Yamada in the lead role. On the island, brothels are scattered everywhere, and a ferry that comes twice a day from the mainland serves as the means of transportation for visitors to the island. The people living on the island spend their entire lives in this closed-off environment, with the women listening to the stories of the customers and longing for the "outside world," while the men laugh at the dreams many of the women hold, keeping them on the island. There are three siblings who run a brothel. Tetsuo, the eldest son who manages the shop, is feared for his violent personality, and he treats the second son, Tokuta, who is obsequious, like a subordinate. Ibuki, the eldest daughter, is bedridden due to a long-term illness. The four unique prostitutes working at this brothel, who are the only ones who don't sell themselves in the house that sells women, are jealous of Ibuki, who is more beautiful than anyone else.
