This is a Kutani-yaki obi-dome (sash clip) with a hydrangea design. The black background makes the whole piece stand out, and it's lovely. While these spindle-shaped Kutani obi-domes are common, I don't think I've seen many with a hydrangea pattern. There are no noticeable flaws, and it should be perfectly usable. However, as it is an antique, please understand this before purchasing.
