The design is gorgeous and lovely. When viewed in bright light, there are some scratches and watermarks on the back. Of the 5 plates, 2 (A and B) have small spots on the white areas (more on A, fewer on B). These were likely present from the beginning. Upon investigation, I found that this is a characteristic that naturally occurs in traditional handmade Shippo-yaki crafts. I interpret it as such.
