This is a kendo men (face protector). It's a hand-stitched 1.5-bu (stitch length) men, made in the Showa 50s (1975-1984) by Seibudo, a purely domestic manufacturer. The mengane (face grill) is made of nickel silver. Leather is used on the top and bottom edges of the mengane, giving it a luxurious feel. I've attached an image of the futon (padding) enlarged, and it's completely different from modern ones. It feels like the core of the tsuki-dare (throat protector) is broken, but other than that, the condition is good. The size is such that if you wear a 70cm hokkamuri (head covering), your forehead won't touch. I don't know the exact value, but it's probably around 67 or 68. I think it's impossible to make something with the same specifications. I will sell it to someone who will take good care of it. Thank you. I will consider a small discount, so please comment.
