Akahada ware is pottery produced in the vicinity of Gojo-yama, also known as Akahada-yama, in Nara City, Nara Prefecture. This teacup is made using the red clay from Akahada-yama, which is rich in iron oxide, and finished in a soft gray color with an Akahada glaze called "Akahada glaze," which uses straw ash. The elegant design, which utilizes empty space and features deer and Nara-e figures, possesses a rustic charm and dignity, with a folk-craft warmth. Additionally, the slight dimple-like indentations on the sides make it comfortable to hold. Diameter approx. 9 cm, Height approx. 6.5 cm. *The inside of the lid of the accompanying box is inscribed with "Kinenhin" (Commemorative item). Although it is a gift item, the teacup itself is new and unused, with no visible scratches or chips. We are looking for someone who can appreciate an item with a history.
