Unlike current models, it features the "JEM" logo on the headstock instead of "JEM Jr." This guitar is packed with details that fans crave, such as the "Monkey Grip," the "Tree of Life inlay" on the fretboard (3rd to 12th frets), and the "STEVE VAI" engraving on the 24th fret, which are all iconic features of the JEM series. Pickups & Sound The pickups are DiMarzio "Evolution" made in the USA, just like the higher-end models, in an HSH configuration. It outputs a powerful and highly detailed, dense tone unique to Vai. *Reason for selling as is* Only the center pickup is not producing sound. The front and rear humbuckers output without any problems, but please be aware that this is an "as is" sale. Product Condition Sound: Front and rear pickups confirmed to be working. No noise or crackling that would interfere with playing. Neck: Almost straight. Truss rod: Unconfirmed. Frets: Some wear is visible on the low frets (around the 1st to 3rd frets), but we have confirmed that there is no buzzing.
