These are high-quality geta (Japanese wooden sandals) made from Aizu paulownia wood. I've worn them a few times, and the wood grain is exceptionally beautiful. This is a rare item made by a craftsman who is no longer with us. The soles have rubber attached, making them easy to walk in and quiet. They're perfect with a yukata (summer kimono), but also great as everyday sandals. The actual size of the platform is 22.5cm. Geta are traditionally worn with the heel slightly (about 1cm) extending off the back, so they're a good fit for those who usually wear sizes 22.5cm to 23cm.
