These are male and female kokeshi dolls. The male doll is inscribed with the name Kōshirō Matsumoto, and the female doll with Utaemon (I believe it's Nakamura Utaemon). I think they are souvenirs or commemorative items from Kabuki. They are old, and some parts have become whitish, but they are a very cute mini size, just under 6 cm tall.
