The sound is incredibly thick, soft, and has a certain stickiness and allure, a truly captivating sound that is characteristic of Mount Vernon. The thick, soft tone resonates within you, making it a joy to play. Despite this, it doesn't feel harsh; there's no stuffiness, and in fact, it felt easy to produce a sound. The rim is a moderately wide rim with a rounded outer edge, making it comfortable on the mouth. Even for someone like myself, who usually plays a Bach 3C, it feels natural to play.
