I received a disassembled shamisen that was stored in a closet, and I polished it, reassembled it, and replaced the skin. The inside of the body has a notation from 1921. This means it was made 104 years ago. The body is made of karin wood, and the thickness of the body's boards is thinner compared to modern shamisen. It has a different tone from modern shamisen. The neck is black-brown, probably shitan (rosewood). The width of the neck is 22mm at the top and 24mm at the bottom, and the length of the neck is 97cm. Both the body and the neck were wet-sanded with sandpaper, and finally polished with 1000 grit and coated with egoma oil (perilla oil). The tuning pegs are made of natural materials. The sound string and bridge are the same ones that were attached before restoration. Total weight: 1,270 grams A body cover was not included, so it is not attached. The skin has been newly replaced with dog skin. It will be shipped in a used hard case. Please consider the hard case as a packing box. Shipping is included.
