This filter transmits only the wavelengths necessary for astrophotography. Contrast is increased, making it easier to see. LPR stands for Light Pollution Resistance. It means light pollution suppression. I attached it to a lens, but in the end, I never took the lens itself, which weighs over 1 kg, outside. (Both the lens and the filter were unused.)
