The contrast with the dark base color is striking, with the so-called "goma-dare" (sesame glaze) flowing dynamically. It has a sturdy construction from the mouth to the shoulder and around the body. The bold and flexible carving, and the "shinogi" (grooved pattern). The plump handles also add to the weight and create a robust piece.
