Work by Akumo Kawawa. Copper phoenix. The inscription on the paulownia wood box indicates it is an ornament, but the male bird is a censer and the female bird is a kogo (incense container). When you enlarge the photos of the male and female birds, you can see many small black spots on their bodies, but they are not unnatural and instead give a matte finish to the silver plating, providing a sense of composure. Although it is a plated finish, it is an antique, so there are some areas with slight discoloration. However, it is by no means unsightly; rather, it gives off the charm of an antique. Comes with the original box and a flower stand. The underside of the flower stand has some age-related discoloration.
