From a young age, he served God with a devout heart and devoted himself to serving the poor. Even after becoming a bishop, he was not swayed by power or position, but always stood on the side of truth and justice, and continued to speak out for the weak. The most famous event in his life was his courageous rebuke of King Bolesław II of the time, urging him to stop his tyranny and injustice. It was very dangerous to directly oppose those in power, but Stanislaus chose to "be righteous before God." Eventually, he incurred the king's wrath and was martyred during Mass in 1079. His blood had a profound impact on all of Poland, and he came to be revered as a "witness to conscience and faith." His life is not just a historical story of martyrdom. It also teaches us quiet courage, even today. Protecting faith in society, sticking to what you believe is right, speaking out for the weak... These are still not easy things to do. But Saint Stanislaus showed us with his own life that "standing for the truth is the deepest form of love for God." Today, he is venerated not only as the patron saint of Poland, but also as the patron saint of priests, the faithful, and all those who wish to live according to their conscience.
