This large basket is suitable for commuting and going to school, as it can carry large bags and luggage that won't fit in a regular front basket. I used it for 5-6 years, replacing the front basket of a mamachari (Japanese commuter bike). Since I carried groceries and other items in the rear basket, I didn't use the front basket very often, so it's in relatively good condition. It's made of rust-resistant and sturdy stainless steel, and there are no signs of rust, corrosion, or damage. There are some scratches on the outer circumference of the basket, and some scratches and dirt on the mounting points. The mounting screws (bolts, nuts, washers) have been replaced with new/like-new stainless steel screws.
