I purchased this item at a shop that sells antiques, vintage goods, and old tools. It's a shop with a great sense of selection, and this piece immediately caught my eye. I believe it's an antique from England. Apparently, it was originally a pot for toothpaste, and the plain design is quite rare. I do see them occasionally, but they usually have printing or text on the lid. There's significant crazing on the inside. I've used it to refill hand cream and store accessories.
