This is a wooden sculpture of a nude seated woman. I purchased it at an antique market. The place of production is unknown, but a web search suggests that similar shapes are introduced as African sculptures. Looking at the neck, thighs, and the base of the arms, no joints can be found, so I believe it is a single-piece carving. The hair (or a cloth like a turban) is bundled and crossed, but no joints can be found here either, so it is believed to be part of the single-piece carving. It has metal earrings in both ears. It has a metal bracelet on its left wrist. The figure is not realistic, but rather deformed. The whole is painted in a dark brown color, but only the whites of the eyes are painted in ocher. The posture of sitting upright gives off a sacred and spiritual atmosphere. I don't know the type of wood, but the texture is hard, and it seems that a long time has passed since it was made, and the surface is smooth and has a black luster.
