Honma-yaki "Black Tea Bowl" Made by Keisuke Ikeda, the second generation of Honma-yaki Keisuke Ikeda is the son of Taisuke Ikeda of Yamagata. He creates pottery, inheriting his father Taisuke's style. ================ Reminiscent of Raku ware from the Rikyū era, with a fine texture and depth, a perfect tea bowl for thick tea (koicha). Taisuke Ikeda, in the Shonai region of Yamagata Prefecture, was inspired by masterpieces such as "Chōjirō" and "Nonkō" from the Rikyū era, collected by the wealthy Honma family, and created pottery. Taisuke was a master of ceramic art, studying under Haribe Murase and Fujio Koyama, and creating his own unique works. Taisuke Ikeda's works of Honma-yaki became widely known, and he was recognized as one of the most notable among a hundred potters, receiving the first "Saigō Mokichi Culture Award" in the Yamagata Prefecture ceramic art world.
