The boots appear black in the photos, but they are navy leather boots. They would look great with flared or wide-leg pants, or tucked into skinny pants. I've worn them a few times since purchasing them, and there is some wear on the heels, but otherwise, there is no noticeable damage, and they are still in good condition. The draping on the instep is part of the design, so it's not severely wrinkled. The size of the instep can be adjusted with the belt. The insole is removable, so please check the measurements in the photos and purchase with your understanding. Someone with a foot length of approximately 26cm (photo 15) has plenty of room, with about 3cm of space at the toes. *This is just my personal opinion. I bought them new several years ago, and they haven't peeled or deteriorated, so I believe they are real leather.
