The armhole area has a lace-like knit design (see photo 6), and it's 100% cotton for a cool feel. I purchased this at Shimamura three years ago and wore it about three times. I believe I only wore it for 2-3 hours each time, going to fireworks displays and festivals. It's in good condition, but I'm selling it because my child has outgrown it. There's a slightly rough seam on the front hem of the top, which was present from when it was sold in the store (see photo 12). It should be fine unless you pull the thread very hard, but please refrain from purchasing if you are concerned about fraying.
