This is the complete 6-volume "New Tale of the Heike" from the Yoshikawa Eiji Zenshu (Collected Works). It beautifully depicts the changing times from the late Heian period to the early Kamakura shogunate, focusing on the rise of Taira no Kiyomori and the eventual downfall of the Heike clan, as well as the era of Yoshitsune and his brother Yoritomo. It takes time to read, but it's a great story for understanding this period and I think it's an enjoyable read. Due to its age, there is some soiling and damage to the covers and vinyl.
