CITIZEN COSMATRON X8 Model: 4-480139TA. This is an electromagnetic balance wheel type, which is no longer manufactured. It comes with the original bracelet. The design is straight out of the Space Age and is very cool. It gives a sense of the near future and the cosmos. I obtained it with a dead battery. I took it to a watchmaker I trust, and they said it would run if a new battery was installed, but it needs an overhaul because the oil has dried up. With electromagnetic balance wheel watches, if the circuit board or IC components fail, the watch becomes completely inoperable. However, it seems there are no electrical component failures. I didn't want to leave the battery in without an overhaul, so I had the battery removed. I was planning to have it overhauled someday and use it with care, but my collection has grown too large, so I am putting it up for sale. Please assume it needs an overhaul. The price reflects this.
