This is a drama adaptation by NHK based on the original novel "Garyu no Utage" by Mariko Hayashi, with a screenplay by Miho Nakazono. It became a huge hit and was temporarily difficult to obtain. I've read the novel, and the drama is a very faithful adaptation, so I looked forward to watching it every week. This is a rental copy, but there are no issues with viewing. Please be aware if you are sensitive to such things. Each volume contains 96 minutes of the main feature plus 10-15 minutes of bonus footage.
