These reeds are made from high-quality reeds from Udono, carefully selected and dried in the shade for approximately 1.5 to 2 years. They are then smoked over an irori (sunken hearth) for over 10 years, resulting in reeds that boast both superior sound quality and durability, making them arguably the finest available. Furthermore, I have used the best materials, including the cap, binding, and Japanese paper, cultivated over many years. Please refer to past reviews of my reeds for a better understanding. These reeds are finished with great care, allowing for comfortable playing. They are generally sized to fit any hichiriki, including those with plastic tubes, but I can accommodate requests for thicker or thinner reeds. While I finish the reeds so that even beginners and women can easily produce a sound, please be aware that they will not sound with a light or weak breath. As my teacher in the musical ensemble says, "To produce a good resonance and tone, it is important to blow with all your might..."
