It has been smoked over an irori (sunken hearth) for over 10 years, boasting both durability and sound quality. I confidently offer this as a top-of-the-line reed, and I believe the past reviews will attest to this. It has been finished with care, allowing for comfortable playing. While it is the size for my own hichiriki, it will basically fit any hichiriki, including plastic ones. It is finished so that even beginners can play it immediately, but please be aware that it is not a thin reed and will not sound with a light breath. To produce a good sound, it is essential to blow with a strong breath. The price of one reed is a bit high, but if you are not satisfied, I will handle returns and exchanges in any way necessary. I am confident that you will be satisfied with this reed, so please try it once. As a supplement, no matter how excellent the materials or instruments you have, you cannot create a better reed without your own playing skill! Even if the reed itself is somewhat shaped, the lack of proper adjustments or poor finishing can be a reason why a new reed doesn't sound. Also, while people say to nurture a new reed to make it sound, in my experience, reeds with poor quality or reeds that are only air-dried are simply not good.
