Two used SF Metro Cards (magnetic prepaid cards from the era of the Teito Rapid Transit Authority, now Tokyo Metro) featuring the former Kudan Kaikan (formerly the Military Hall) in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, on their design. About SF Metro Cards: These cards were launched in 1996 (Heisei 8) and could be used on both the Teito Rapid Transit Authority (now Tokyo Metro) and the Toei Subway. 2. History of Kudan Kaikan (formerly the Military Hall): Built in 1934 (Showa 9) as the "Military Hall," it was a historical building representing the "Imperial Crown Style," a blend of Japanese and Western architectural styles. After the war, it was operated by the Japan War-Bereaved Families Association and was widely used as a wedding hall, accommodation facility, and hall. On March 11, 2011, the Great East Japan Earthquake caused the ceiling of the grand hall to collapse, and it closed in April of the same year.
