This is a flat tea caddy with wave and crane lacquer work, made by Sotei Nakamura, a tenth-generation lacquer artist of the Senke Jisshoku (Ten Craftsmen of the Sen Family). It features beautiful lacquer work and a sense of luxury. It has the kao (signature) of the 15th generation Urasenke Grand Master, Hounsai. There is a needle mark on the bottom.
