The Italian size is one size smaller than Japanese sizes, so even though it's a size 42, it's equivalent to a Japanese size 40, somewhere between M and L. It's a slightly loose M size, or a snug L size. Wearing it loose allows you to layer underneath, and the relaxed fit is luxurious and lovely. Since I bought a Max Mara coat, I no longer hesitate, no matter how beautiful a camel coat I see. Max Mara is the best! It's lightweight, warm, and the design is timeless, so I think anyone can wear it.
