The soles are Marche soles. I was very careful when lacing the shoes to prevent the fur from shedding, so the fur is in good condition. Lis leather shines just by brushing, so it's a very enjoyable leather to polish. The dark parts inside the sole were originally a dark color. I wear Alden 7D loafers, and I wear 6 1/2D. The Michael has two eyelets and a wide opening, so I wear 39.5.
