This product is new and unused. It can be used with gas or IH (100V/200V) cooktops. This is a "3-cup rice cooker with a double lid." For IH Cooktops: Set the heat to medium on 200V appliances (around 5 to 6 on a 10-level scale). It's best if it boils in about 15 minutes. If it boils too quickly, reduce the heat and continue heating for about 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, turn off the heat and let it steam for about 20 minutes. Once steaming is complete, open the lid, stir the rice from the bottom, and let it sit for another 10 minutes for even better results. For Direct Gas Flame: The best heat setting is medium to high, and it should boil in about 10-12 minutes. Once boiling, turn off the heat and proceed to steaming. If it boils in less than 10 minutes, reduce the heat. If it doesn't boil in 12 minutes, increase the heat. Once boiling, turn off the heat and steam for about 20 minutes. Once steaming is complete, open the lid, stir the rice from the bottom, and let it sit for another 10 minutes for even better results.
