I bought too many because the food cooked in cast iron enamel pots is so delicious, and I'm getting rid of this one because I have too many similar pots. I've used it for cooking rice a few times. The stains on the bottom are not paint chips, but more like oil stains. There is no roughness or snagging. This is a useful size for the upcoming season of hot pots and oden. Of course, it can be used for anything, such as cooking rice and stews.
