Thank you very much for viewing. This is a waraji (straw sandal) given as a commemorative item when I participated in the Hakone Daimyo Gyoretsu (procession) in 2000. (It wasn't worn on the day, but was distributed separately to participants.) At the time, they were recruiting participants in the newspaper, so I applied out of curiosity and was selected by lottery. On the day, I walked through Hakone-Yumoto as a spear carrier. By the way, Kiyoshi Hikawa, who debuted that year with "Hakone Hachiri no Hanjiro," participated as the daimyo (feudal lord) in honor of Hakone. I have fond memories of being able to hear Hikawa-san's "♫ Ya da ne ttara, ya da ne! ♫" live at a small event during a break. As for the waraji, there is some deterioration over time as it is a natural material. I am listing it this time as I am organizing my parents' house. I think it's small for a man to actually use. It may not have been intended to be worn, as it was a participation prize. It is scheduled to be listed for a short period. It's a fun event called the Hakone Daimyo Gyoretsu and a commemorative item from 25 years ago.
