This is a ukulele made by Derek Shimizu, who now makes ukuleles in Las Vegas, from his time in Hawaii. It's an 8-string ukulele that adds exceptional flavor to hula performances. It has eschewed flashy decorations, instead featuring wooden rope binding around the sound hole for a stylish look. ◎ Top, sides, and back are Hawaiian koa. ◎ Neck is mahogany. ◎ Satin finish. ◎ Includes the light case in the photos. ◎ Strings: Worth Strings ⚫︎ A notable feature is that it's very light for a tenor ukulele. It has enough volume that a pickup wasn't needed. ⚫︎ Purchased in Hawaii about 10 years ago. Also, there are no weather checks typical of G-strings (please forgive any oversight). ⚫︎ My band has broken up, so I'd be happy if someone would play it. I've also set the price at a bargain.
