◇ Mitsuyoshi Karasumaru A court noble (Naidaijin) of the mid-Edo period, a waka poet who transmitted the Kokin Denju (secrets of the Kokin Wakashu) to Emperor Sakuramachi. He studied waka under Emperor Reigen, Michizane Nakain, and Sanekage Mushanokoji. He was an excellent poet with disciples including Imperial Prince Arisugawa Tomohito and Emperor Sakuramachi. Emperor Sakuramachi received the Kokin Denju from Mitsuyoshi, and he also bestowed the Kokin Denju upon Tadayoshi Endo, the lord of the Mikami domain. The family headship was inherited by Mitsuyoshi's adopted son, Mitsutane Nakamikado Nobukiyo, the son of his younger brother, Mitsuko. Other names: Fumai Shin-in, Buddhist name: Kaiin Jo. Official rank: Shonii (Senior Second Rank), Naidaijin (Minister of the Interior).
